Pass the Sour Cream

Usually, you have a choice. It's your choice.

Do kids enjoy giving?

We had proof over the holidays that kids enjoy giving at least as much–if not more–than getting gifts. It was very convincing if a bit surprising. Especially if you ask parents, the holidays can be a bit overwhelming with what seems like cries of “More, more more!” from the kids. What really gets me is when the open a gift and then just move onto the next one. It’s just about quantity. Yes, we can regulate it (and try to) but it’s difficult and a delicate balance.

So turn the tables: have the kids be the ones doing the giving. The results will most likely surprise you.

Can kids enjoy giving more than receiving? Have you given them the opportunity?
